Description
ZKS Progressia is a mid-early, high-yielding double-line sunflower hybrid developed by breeders under the brand 'Zemlyakoff Genetics'. It has a vegetation period of 110-112 days and is intended for cultivation using the GPtech (Grand Plus Technology) method. Plants reach a height of 180-200 cm, feature large flower heads with a diameter of 20-22 cm, containing black seeds adorned with distinct gray marginal stripes. Leaves are small with moderate lobing, and the stem is erect, reducing the risk of lodging.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to various diseases, including false powdery mildew, verticillium, rust, phomopsis, sclerotinia, and also to 7 races of downy mildew (A-G). Additionally, it is resistant to herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, enabling effective weed control and increased yield. Seed oil content is 48-50%, making this hybrid attractive for producing high-quality oil.
Recommended planting density depends on growing conditions: 55-60 thousand seeds per hectare in well-watered zones, and 50-55 thousand seeds per hectare in dry regions. Yield potential reaches 45 centners per hectare, confirmed by multiple field trials. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, ZKS Progressia is a reliable choice for farmers seeking stable and high sunflower yields.
