Butana

The Butana variety of vegetable pea is a late-maturing, high-yielding variety intended for fresh consumption and all types of processing, including freezing and canning. The maturation period is approximately 70 days, and technical ripeness occurs at a sum of active temperatures of 920°. Plants reach a height of 80-90 cm and are characterized by strong stems with a high concentration of double pods in the upper part. Pods are large, containing up to 10 peas, which have a regular round shape and a rich green color. The peas of the Butana variety are large, tender, and sweet, with a high sugar content, ensuring excellent taste qualities. The green pea yield from pods is 44-49%, making this variety especially attractive to processors. Yield varies between 40-72 centners per hectare under conditions of cultivation on fertile soils with adequate moisture. The plant has white flowers and medium to large bracts with a waxy coating and mottling. The Butana variety is distinguished by high resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fop:1), enhancing its reliability and stable yield. Due to its commercial qualities and disease resistance, this pea variety is in demand among farmers and processors, providing a high-quality and tasty product for fresh vegetable markets and industrial processing.
