Description
The 'Bugovskaya 24' variety is a spring seed crop of Vicia sativa L., intended for green mass and fodder production. It is characterized by early-medium flowering, medium-width leaves with a straight or slightly curved apex, and anthocyanin shades in the leaf axils. The pods have medium length and width; seeds are large, round, gray-brown with distinct ornamentation.
The yield of the 'Bugovskaya 24' variety exceeds standard indicators in the North-West region (46.1 t/ha) and is at the level of the standard in the Central region (36.8 t/ha). The crop demonstrates moderate resistance to ascochitis but is susceptible to root rots. Under optimal conditions, yield can reach 8–9 t/ha.
The variety is widely used as a fodder and soil-enriching crop: protein content in seeds is 20–25%, and dry mass is 30–35% of the harvest weight. It is suitable for growing in conditions of moderate soil moisture with pH 5.5–7.0, sprouts quickly (15–24 days to full height), and can be used as fresh feed, dry feed, green cover, or a soil-enriching crop to improve soil structure.
