Kontak

The zucchini variety Kontak is an early-maturing and high-yielding plant that begins fruiting around day 42-46 after germination. The plant is compact, bushy, with a short main stem and few branches. Fruits are cylindrical with smooth dark green skin and average weight of about 1-1.3 kg. The flesh is white, dense, juicy, tender, with high taste qualities and easily digestible due to balanced content of carbohydrates, proteins, mineral salts and enzymes.

This variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses. To obtain an early harvest, it is recommended to grow seedlings sown in pots at the end of April, followed by transplanting under plastic film in mid-May. In open ground, seeds are sown at the beginning of May at a depth of 3-6 cm depending on soil density, with about 80 cm spacing between planting holes. During fruiting, regular watering with warm water at 22-35 degrees Celsius is required, as well as removal of 1-3 leaves from the center of the bush to improve ventilation. Zucchini are harvested twice a week.

The Kontak variety is distinguished by good transportability and resistance to some diseases, making it an excellent choice for home cooking, canning, and preparing zucchini caviar. With proper agronomy, one square meter can yield 2.7 to 6.3 kg of quality fruits. The harvest period lasts from July to September, ensuring a prolonged use of this variety.
