The stunt nematode (Tylenchorhynchus brevilineatus) is a destructive plant-parasitic nematode belonging to the order Tylenchida. It is recognized as an ectoparasite that primarily targets the root systems of various crops, significantly impeding plant development and nutrient uptake.
This species is notorious for causing stunt disease in rice crops, which is a major agricultural problem in several regions. Apart from rice, Tylenchorhynchus brevilineatus has a wide host range, including maize, wheat, and various legume species, allowing it to survive and persist in diverse agricultural environments.
