Biology and life cycle: The life cycle of Tylenchorhynchus martini consists of an egg stage, four larval stages, and an adult stage. Once a suitable root is found, they use their hollow, needle-like stylet to penetrate the root surface and extract cellular contents, which serves as their primary food source.

Conditions for development and spread: These nematodes thrive in moist environments, particularly in flooded fields like rice paddies. They are highly active at temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. Spread occurs mainly through the movement of irrigation water, contaminated soil clinging to agricultural equipment, or the translocation of infested seedlings to new fields.
