Anacamptodes is a genus of moths belonging to the Geometridae family, commonly known as geometrid moths or loopers. These insects are recognized as significant pests in various forestry and agricultural settings, where their larvae can cause widespread defoliation of trees and ornamental shrubs.

Systematically, this genus is classified within the order Lepidoptera. Adults typically display cryptic coloration that mimics tree bark, providing excellent camouflage against avian predators. Understanding the lifecycle stages, including egg, larva, pupa, and adult, is essential for timing intervention strategies during the growing season.

The caterpillars primarily feed on foliage, consuming leaves and young shoots. This feeding behavior can lead to severe stress in host plants, resulting in reduced vigor and impaired development.
