It is essential to clarify that Anagrus is not a plant pest. Instead, it is a genus of minute parasitic wasps belonging to the family Mymaridae. These tiny creatures are recognized as highly effective natural enemies (parasitoids) that play a critical role in controlling various species of agricultural pests, primarily leafhoppers.

Systematically, Anagrus belongs to the order Hymenoptera. Unlike herbivorous insects that damage crops, these wasps specialize in locating the eggs of other insects embedded within plant tissues. They have evolved advanced sensory capabilities to detect the pheromones or chemical cues of their hosts, making them excellent biological control agents.
