Host plants. This species is primarily associated with cotton (Gossypium). The larvae demonstrate a strong preference for the succulent leaves and terminal buds of the cotton plant, making them a major concern for cotton growers during the vegetative and reproductive growth phases of the crop.

Biology and life cycle. The life cycle of Anomis luridula consists of four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The moths are nocturnal and deposit eggs on the undersides of host leaves. Larvae hatch and pass through several instar stages, feeding aggressively to support rapid development. Depending on the local climate, the species can complete multiple generations within a single growing season.

Damage and economic impact. Larval feeding is the primary cause of damage. Young larvae begin by skeletonizing the leaf surface, while older larvae consume significant portions of the foliage.
