Systematic position: Atrachya menetriesi is a species of beetle belonging to the order Coleoptera and the family Chrysomelidae. Commonly known as a specialized leaf beetle, it has established itself as a significant pest in agricultural sectors across East Asia, including regions in Russia, China, and Japan.
Crops damaged: The pest exhibits a broad host range, showing a particular preference for leguminous crops such as soybeans and beans. It also causes severe damage to cucurbits like cucumbers, melons, and pumpkins. If left unchecked, the beetle can rapidly infest fields, causing substantial economic losses in vegetable and oilseed production.
