Description
The brown-winged leaf beetle (Aulacophora semifusca) is a significant agricultural pest belonging to the Chrysomelidae family within the order Coleoptera. This species is widely recognized as a serious threat to vegetable production in various Asian regions, known for its rapid spread and ability to cause extensive damage to host plants.
This pest specifically targets members of the Cucurbitaceae family. Common crops such as cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, melons, and watermelons are particularly susceptible. The insect attacks these plants throughout their growth cycle, often compromising the entire yield of a field if left unmanaged.
