The bombardier beetle (Latin: Brachinus crepitans) is a member of the order Coleoptera and the family Carabidae. These beetles are primarily nocturnal, seeking refuge during the day under vegetation, field debris, or within the top layer of loose soil. Their life cycle consists of four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
