Cingilia is a genus of moths belonging to the Geometridae family, order Lepidoptera. These insects, commonly referred to as inchworms or loopers during their larval stage, are recognized for their potential to cause significant damage to woody plants and shrubbery in both forestry and horticultural settings.
The host range for Cingilia is quite diverse. These pests primarily attack deciduous trees and shrubs, including commercially important fruit trees like apple and pear, as well as woody plants such as blueberries, birches, willows, and alders.
