Crepidodera is a genus of small leaf beetles belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, order Coleoptera. These insects are commonly referred to as flea beetles due to their specialized hind legs, which allow them to jump significant distances when disturbed. They are globally recognized pests that cause economic damage to various types of vegetation.

These beetles feed on a diverse range of host plants, focusing primarily on species within the Salicaceae and Rosaceae families. In agricultural and horticultural settings, they can cause substantial damage to both young seedlings and mature plants, leading to weakened immune systems in vegetation and a higher susceptibility to pathogens.

The biology of Crepidodera involves a complete metamorphosis cycle consisting of the egg, larval, pupal, and adult stages. The adult beetles typically overwinter in soil debris or under leaf litter. As temperatures rise in the spring, they emerge to feed and mate, after which the females deposit eggs, leading to a new generation that continues the cycle of damage throughout the growing season.
