As a hyperparasitoid, its ecological role is unique; it does not attack plant pests directly but instead parasitizes the primary parasitoids (such as braconid wasps) that naturally control aphid populations in various agricultural settings.

This species impacts a wide range of crops, including cereals, orchards, and greenhouse vegetables, wherever aphids are present.
