Description

Systematic position. Deudorix antalus belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Lycaenidae. Known commonly as the bean butterfly or similar names in various regions, it is a significant agricultural pest that targets the reproductive structures of numerous plant species.

Crops and economic importance. This species poses a major threat to a wide range of crops, including beans, peas, pigeon peas, soy, as well as fruits like pomegranates, coffee, and citrus.
