The small water scavenger beetle (Enochrus) belongs to the family Hydrophilidae and, under specific environmental conditions, can act as a pest of agricultural crops. Although most members of this genus are primarily saprophagous, in favorable conditions such as flooded fields, they can cause significant damage to emerging seedlings.
