The genus Entylia belongs to the family Membracidae, commonly known as treehoppers, within the order Hemiptera. These insects are distinguished by their pronotum, which is often developed into elaborate, hump-like structures. While biologically fascinating, certain species within this genus can become problematic pests in horticultural and agricultural settings, impacting plant health significantly.

Entylia treehoppers are known to infest a variety of plants, showing a preference for members of the Asteraceae family, such as sunflowers, as well as various legumes and ornamental crops.
