Description
Eotetranychus deflexus is a species of spider mite belonging to the family Tetranychidae. As a specialized phytophagous pest, it targets various tree and shrub species, feeding on the intracellular content of leaves. Its presence can significantly compromise plant health, particularly during periods of warm and dry weather.
The host range includes a variety of deciduous plants. The mite primarily colonizes the undersides of leaves, establishing colonies that gradually spread across the foliage. By piercing the epidermal cells, these mites disrupt photosynthesis and physiological balance, leading to stunting and physiological stress in the host plants.
