Systematic position: The Chinese tea tussock moth Euproctis pseudoconspersa is a member of the order Lepidoptera and the family Erebidae (subfamily Lymantriinae). This moth is recognized as a significant agricultural pest that specifically targets tea plantations across various Asian countries, posing a constant challenge to commercial production.
Host plants: The primary host plant for this species is the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). While it shows a strong preference for tea foliage, the larvae are capable of feeding on other associated plant species in the surrounding ecosystem, which allows the population to survive even if the primary host is temporarily managed.
