These minute pests are characterized by slender bodies and piercing-sucking mouthparts, which they use to extract cell sap from their host plants, causing significant physiological stress to the vegetation.

This pest primarily infests various cereal crops. Fulmekiola typically thrives in environments where host plants are abundant, often hiding within leaf sheaths or rolled leaf blades.
