Description

The green dock leaf beetle (Gastroidea polygoni) belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Chrysomelidae. This beetle is a common pest that impacts various agricultural and ornamental plants, particularly those belonging to the Polygonaceae and Brassicaceae families, causing significant economic damage.

The primary crops susceptible to infestation by Gastroidea include horseradish, rhubarb, sorrel, and various species of knotweed. The beetle thrives in diverse environments, often concentrating on host plants in gardens and commercial vegetable fields, leading to reduced photosynthesis and weakened plant development.
