Both adult beetles and larvae feed on the foliage, causing significant damage by creating irregular holes and skeletonizing leaf tissues. This feeding pattern drastically reduces the photosynthetic surface area of the leaves, putting the plant under physiological stress.

The biological cycle follows the typical metamorphosis of leaf beetles: egg, larval stages, pupation, and adult emergence. Eggs are usually deposited on leaf surfaces. After hatching, the larvae undergo several instars while feeding aggressively. Pupation typically occurs within the soil or the leaf litter layer beneath the canopy, which allows the larvae to transition into the adult form.
