Helicotylenchus indicus is a plant-parasitic nematode belonging to the order Tylenchida and the family Hoplolaimidae. As a semi-endoparasite, this organism primarily targets the root systems of various agricultural plants, causing significant physiological stress to the host.
The nematode has a wide host range, making it a serious threat to global agriculture. It affects various crops, including cereals, vegetables, legumes, and industrial crops like cotton and sugarcane.
