Heterodera oxiana is a species of plant-parasitic nematode belonging to the family Heteroderidae and order Tylenchida. It is a specialized cyst-forming nematode that significantly impacts the physiological processes of host plants, leading to impaired nutrient uptake and reduced vegetative growth.
This parasite predominantly attacks cereal crops such as wheat, barley, and oats. By invading the root system, Heterodera oxiana disrupts the host's ability to absorb water and essential minerals, which is particularly devastating during periods of drought or nutrient deficiency in the soil.
