The Indian bullfrog (Hoplobatrachus tigerinus) belongs to the order Anura and the family Dicroglossidae. While it is native to parts of Asia, in areas where it has been introduced, it is considered a problematic invasive species that poses significant challenges to local biodiversity and agricultural productivity.
These frogs primarily impact rice paddies and vegetable farming operations. Their diet is generalist and opportunistic, meaning they consume beneficial insects that would otherwise control crop-damaging pests.
