The pale mesochorus (Mesochorus pallidus) is a parasitic wasp belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Ichneumonidae. In the context of agronomy, this species is noted for its role as a hyperparasitoid, which distinguishes it from many beneficial wasps that directly target agricultural pests.

Taxonomically, the species is grouped within the subfamily Mesochorinae. Their primary ecological function is to parasitize other primary parasitoids, such as braconids or other ichneumonids, that have already infested a host larva. Consequently, the presence of these wasps can diminish the success of biological pest control programs implemented on farms.

Crops affected by the indirect actions of this insect include cereals, pulses, and various vegetables where populations of primary parasitoids are established.
