Nebalia is a genus of marine crustaceans belonging to the order Leptostraca. As primary detritivores in the ocean, these organisms play a crucial role in nutrient cycling within marine ecosystems and are not categorized as pests for terrestrial agriculture or horticulture.

Systematically, Nebalia is classified under the phylum Arthropoda, subphylum Crustacea, class Malacostraca, and family Nebaliidae.
