Nematocampa limbata, commonly known as the filament bearer moth, is a species of the Geometridae family. This moth is recognized by the unique appearance of its larvae, which possess distinct filamentous structures on their bodies, making them stand out in entomological observations.
The pest primarily affects a variety of woody plants and deciduous trees. Common host plants include apple trees, pear trees, maples, and alders. The larvae are generalist feeders, meaning they can thrive on different hosts depending on availability, which poses a risk to both orchard and forest health.
