Systematic position: The Argentine bagworm belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Psychidae. It is a specialized pest known for its unique protective behavior, where larvae construct portable cases (bags) made from bits of plant material, twigs, and silk, providing them with effective concealment from predators and environmental stressors.
