This pest primarily infests a variety of woody plants, shrubs, and ornamental species. While they are often associated with tropical or subtropical environments, they can become problematic in greenhouses and nursery settings. They typically feed on organic debris, lichens, and fungi, but under high population density, they may damage the bark and tender living tissues of host plants.
