This beetle primarily affects cereal crops such as winter wheat and rye. Adult beetles are known to feed on the developing grains during the milk-to-dough ripening stages. By chewing into the kernels, they reduce the overall grain yield and negatively impact the quality of the harvest, making the crop less suitable for milling and storage.
