Ornix (often classified within the genus Parornix) belongs to the Gracillariidae family, order Lepidoptera. These insects are recognized as significant leafminers that pose a threat to various deciduous trees. The primary hosts of Ornix include members of the Rosaceae family, such as apple, pear, cherry, and plum trees.
