Biology and life cycle. This species is a potter wasp that does not build free-standing nests. Instead, it utilizes existing cavities such as hollow plant stems, cracks in wood, and artificial structures. The female wasp gathers small paralyzed caterpillars and deposits them into cells as food for its larvae, sealing the cells with mud partitions.

The wasps frequently target the nozzles and tubes of drip irrigation systems, filling them with mud and organic debris.
