The rose-feeding web-spinning sawfly (Pamphilius balteatus) is a species of insect belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Pamphiliidae. These insects are characterized by their ability to produce silk, which they use to construct protective structures on their host plants during the larval stage.
The primary hosts for this pest include plants of the Rosaceae family, such as cultivated roses, wild rose bushes (Rosa spp.), and occasionally various fruit trees. The presence of these larvae is often indicated by distorted or folded leaves that are held together by fine, sticky silken threads.
