Unlike sedentary spiders, these are active hunters frequently found in agricultural landscapes, particularly in rice paddies. In the context of agronomy, they are classified as beneficial predators rather than pests, as they consume significant quantities of crop-damaging insects.

Taxonomically, this species belongs to the order Araneae and the family Lycosidae. They are easily recognized by their acute eyesight and swift movement across the soil surface. To ensure the maintenance of these natural predators, agronomists recommend specific conservation practices:
