Description

Pauropsylla is a genus of insects belonging to the order Hemiptera, family Triozidae (psyllids). These minute sap-sucking pests are widely recognized in agricultural and botanical circles for their unique ability to induce the formation of specific growths, known as galls, on the leaves of their host plants.

This pest is primarily considered a significant threat to members of the Moraceae family, particularly various species of Ficus. In tropical and subtropical regions, species of the Pauropsylla genus can cause severe damage to ornamental plantings, landscape trees, and forestry crops, ultimately reducing their physiological vigor and aesthetic value.
