The Larch pezomachus (Pezomachus laricicollae) is a member of the Hymenoptera order, specifically belonging to the Ichneumonidae family. These insects are known for their highly specialized life strategies, which often make them inconspicuous yet potentially destructive pests in larch-dominated forestry environments.

The pest primarily targets larch plantations, impacting the vitality of young trees by damaging their buds and shoots. While often classified within ecological niches that include both beneficial and harmful insects, under favorable conditions for the pest, their feeding activity can significantly degrade the health of individual trees.
