The genus Phialodes belongs to the family Geometridae, within the order Lepidoptera. These insects are classified as significant pests due to the leaf-eating behavior of their larvae. These pests primarily target a wide range of broad-leaved trees. Host plants often include fruit-bearing species, oak, linden, and other deciduous trees commonly found in shelterbelts and forest borders.
