The striped flea beetle (Phyllotreta vittata) is a member of the Coleoptera order and the Chrysomelidae family. These small, agile beetles are major pests of agricultural crops, particularly known for their ability to cause extensive damage to plants in the Brassicaceae family.
Key crops susceptible to infestation include cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, radish, mustard, and canola. The most critical period for infestation is the seedling stage, as the beetles feed aggressively on cotyledons and early true leaves, which can lead to complete stand loss if not managed promptly.
