This mite species feeds primarily on the mycelium of mushrooms. By consuming the fungal hyphae, the mite damages the structure of the mycelium, which directly inhibits the formation of primordia and reduces the overall yield of the crop. The mite acts as a significant limiting factor in mushroom productivity.
