Description

The genus Scopula belongs to the family Geometridae, order Lepidoptera. Within agricultural systems, these moths are recognized for their potential to adapt to various crops, where they can become a significant pest threat if population levels are left unchecked by natural predators or human intervention.

These pests typically feed on a wide range of herbaceous plants, including various legumes, crucifers, and cereal crops. The larvae cause direct damage by consuming foliage, which can retard plant growth, disrupt physiological processes, and ultimately lead to significant reductions in commercial harvest yield.
