This organism primarily damages water intake systems, filtration equipment, and cage structures. By settling in internal piping and mesh screens, it restricts water flow, increases hydraulic resistance, and significantly hampers the operational efficiency of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and seawater farms.
