Description
The genus Syntomus belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Carabidae. While many ground beetles are considered beneficial predatory insects, certain species within this group have been observed in agricultural settings where they can occasionally cause damage to seedling emergence by feeding on germinating seeds or tender young stems.

Key interventions include timely deep plowing to disrupt the habitat, crop rotation to break the pest cycle, and maintaining clean fields by controlling weeds that act as alternate food sources.
