Tectura (lat. Tectura) is a genus of insects belonging to the order Lepidoptera, specifically the family Gracillariidae, commonly known as leaf miner moths. These small moths are recognized for their specialized larvae, which develop internally within plant tissues, creating specific patterns of damage known as mines.

The host range of Tectura primarily includes various deciduous trees and shrubs. These insects often target foliage in nurseries, orchards, and urban landscapes, where they can cause significant aesthetic and physiological damage if populations remain unchecked during the growing season.

The life cycle of Tectura involves four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult moth. Eggs are typically laid on the leaf surface, and upon hatching, the larvae burrow directly into the mesophyll of the leaf. This endophagous lifestyle protects the larvae from predators and environmental stressors during their most vulnerable growth stages.

Damage caused by Tectura is characterized by visible mining patterns on leaves, which appear as discolored tracks or blotches. As larvae consume the internal leaf tissue, they disrupt photosynthesis.
