Description

Telechrysis (lat. Telechrysis) is a genus of insects belonging to the family Chloropidae, commonly known as stem flies. These are specialized pests that pose a significant threat to cereal crops, negatively impacting grain yield and the quality of agricultural produce. The primary hosts for this pest include wheat, barley, and rye. The larvae of the insect inhabit the stems of young plants, feeding on the soft internal tissues.
