Tersilochus

Tersilochus is a genus of parasitic wasps belonging to the family Ichneumonidae within the order Hymenoptera. In agricultural entomology, these insects are recognized as important parasitoids that naturally regulate the populations of various pests, primarily the pollen beetle (Meligethes aeneus), which causes significant damage to cruciferous crops.

The primary hosts for Tersilochus are species that infest plants such as winter and spring oilseed rape, mustard, and other members of the Brassicaceae family. These wasps search for the larval stages of their hosts to deposit eggs, effectively reducing the damage potential caused by these phytophagous insects in industrial crops.
