The Pittosporum psyllid (Trioza vitreoradiata) is a small insect belonging to the family Triozidae within the order Hemiptera. It is a well-known pest that specifically targets plants of the genus Pittosporum, often causing significant damage to hedges and decorative shrubs in urban and residential landscapes.
The primary host plants for this psyllid are species such as Pittosporum tenuifolium and Pittosporum eugenioides. Due to the high density of these plants in gardening, the pest can spread rapidly, leading to widespread infestations that affect the aesthetic quality of large-scale green spaces.
The life cycle of Trioza vitreoradiata involves distinct stages: eggs, multiple nymphal instars, and adults.
