The juniper eriophyid mite (Trisetacus neoquadrisetus) is a specialized microscopic pest belonging to the Eriophyidae family, order Acariformes. These mites are known for their extremely small size and their tendency to induce complex morphological changes in their host plants, particularly conifers.

This species primarily targets plants within the Juniperus genus. They are rarely visible to the naked eye, often hiding deep within the bud scales or in the crevices of newly developing shoots. Their ability to go undetected for long periods makes them a significant threat in nurseries and landscape plantings.

The biology of Trisetacus neoquadrisetus involves a multi-generational cycle that runs in parallel with the host plant's seasonal growth. Overwintering occurs as adults or nymphs inside the buds, and activity peaks during the spring when the buds break and active shoot growth resumes.
