The Asian giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia) is a member of the Vespidae family and is recognized as the largest hornet species in the world. While it does not feed directly on agricultural crops, its impact on the agricultural sector is significant due to its devastating predatory behavior against European and Asian honey bees. As bees are vital for the pollination of numerous crops, the presence of these hornets poses a major threat to food security and farm production.
